Thank you for using Kortex. This privacy policy explains how our browser extension handles your information.

1. Information We Handle

Kortex is designed to work with data that is already in your browser. We handle two types of information:

• Chat Conversations: The text content of your conversations on supported AI chat platforms (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity). This is the primary data the extension processes.
• Authentication Information: To communicate with Google NotebookLM on your behalf, the extension handles session authentication tokens that are stored in your browser for notebooklm.google.com.

2. How We Use Your Information

The extension's sole purpose is to transfer your data from one place to another, at your explicit request.

• The Chat Conversations you choose to archive are sent directly from the AI chat platform to your own Google NotebookLM account.
• The Authentication Information is used only to authorize this transfer to your NotebookLM account.

We, the developers of Kortex, do not see, save, or store your chat conversations on any server that we control. The entire process occurs between your browser and the services you already use.

3. Data Storage

• Conversation Data: The extension does not store your conversation data. It is held in memory only for the duration of the transfer to your NotebookLM account.
• Authentication & Settings: Any authentication tokens or user settings are stored locally on your device using the standard chrome.storage API. This data is not transmitted to us.

4. Data Sharing

We do not share your data with any third parties. The extension facilitates a connection between the AI chat service and your NotebookLM account, and your data is only shared between those two services as directed by you.
